## System summary

The MiniMax Voice project moves the Jervis voice assistant speech-to-text and
text-to-speech to cloud APIs. A local fallback keeps the house working when the
internet is down. Wake-word detection stays local.

## Core configuration

- **Secrets file**: `~/.config/environment.d/10-secrets.conf` (mode 600).
- **Project directory**: `/home/sam/paseo/projects/minimax_voice_tts_stt/`.
- **Live ports**: `5001` STT shim, `5002` local STT fallback, `8501` agent,
  `4953` Snapcast announcements.

## Verification (2026-10-08)

- The live STT primary is MiniMax `asr-1.0`; OpenRouter is a one-line rollback.
- Tests: `tts_router` 74, `voice_stt_shim` 7, `voice_bridge` 13, `benchmark` 7.
  All pass. Raw logs: `benchmark/results/aud32/`.
- Home Assistant: no old-piper hang. `script.piper_doorbell` is broken, not
  hanging. See `notes/aud32-verification-summary.md`.

## Agent restart steps

1. Read the catalog above. Inject only the documents you need.
2. Check git status: `git status`.
3. Check recent commits: `git log -n 5 --oneline`.
4. Run the offline tests: `cd tts_router && python3 -m unittest test_tts_router`.
